Questions.

We are building a new subdivision. How can drone video help us sell lots?

Buyers have a hard time visualizing a neighborhood when it’s just dirt and framing. We provide sweeping subdivision drone video and photos that showcase the scale of the community and its proximity to local Chicago suburban landmarks, schools, and parks. It allows you to market the lifestyle of the development, helping you pre-sell homes before the drywall is even up.

Are you licensed and insured to fly drones over subdivisions and active build sites?

Absolutely. Flying a drone over a crowded subdivision or an active custom home build without proper certification is a massive liability. We hold an active FAA Part 107 Commercial Drone License, carry comprehensive liability insurance, and handle all airspace authorizations for subdivision drone marketing in Chicago, the Northwest Suburbs, West Suburbs, and Southwest Suburbs.

How do you price new construction photography, and is there a limit on photos?

We don’t believe in nickel-and-diming you with arbitrary photo limits. We shoot exactly what is needed to beautifully market the development. For standard model homes under 2,500 sq. ft., this is typically around 50 photos. For massive luxury subdivisions or larger estates, our pricing uses a simple square-footage scale. This covers the increased time on-site and the additional editing required to document the larger footprint, but we will never cut your gallery short just to hit a number. Book a 15-minute call and we’ll send a fixed quote.

How often should we schedule progress videos for a new development?

For large-scale residential developments or historic adaptive reuse projects, we typically recommend monthly or bi-weekly site visits. This gives you a consistent stream of construction progress monitoring content to keep your investors happy and feed your social media channels with fresh, engaging updates — the same footage can be cut into contractor marketing videos. For the full story from groundbreaking to completion, we can also set up and maintain long-term time-lapse cameras for the length of the build.

Will I get the same photographer for a multi-month construction project?

Yes, absolutely. We know developers hate the massive agency model where a random, inexperienced freelancer shows up to your job site every month. We are a tight-knit, local team headquartered in Arlington Heights, IL. You get the exact same professional photographer and master editor for every phase of your build, ensuring 100% visual consistency from groundbreaking to ribbon-cutting.

Do we own the rights to the photos and videos you shoot for our development?

Yes! You receive full, unlimited usage rights for all the media we deliver. You can post the new construction time-lapses on your website, run the drone aerials as Facebook ads, and use the 3D floor plans in your print brochures forever without any hidden licensing fees. How is architectural photography different from the photos you take for real estate agents?

Real estate photography is designed to get a buyer in the door quickly. Residential architectural photography is designed for your long-term portfolio. When shooting for an architect or custom builder, we spend significantly more time on-site waiting for the perfect natural light, focusing on specific material textures, structural sightlines, and design intent. It is an editorial, magazine-quality approach to photography. Selling a finished $1M+ spec home? See our luxury real estate photography.
